Hotel is in an excellent location with lovely sea views. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, although very basic. Staff generally friendly and helpful.
Rather tatty and unkempt - could do with complete refurbishment. Plumbing problems - shower didn't work in first room, so we were moved to another. Restaurant totally geared up to coach parties and unable to cope with individual travellers satisfactorily - eg they offer an a la carte menu, which turned out to be very poor, kept us waiting for a very long time, and then tried to rush us out because it was 8.45 and the restaurant was closing!
States dog friendly but had to go elsewhere to eat with our dog as there were no bar meals available. Room cold and uncomfortable, the hotel seemed to cater solely for the coach trip which arrived during our stay
it was a place to put our heads down for the night on our way to the Uig ferry
thought the food in the evening was disgusting
Manager and staff were very helpful and made me very welcome.Food was good.
Car parking was sparce however there was a free car park approx 200 yards away.Bathroom needs upgrading
The view from our room was amazing and the entertainment in the bar was good.Good breakfasts but get to the dining room before the coach parties.
We had an evevning meal inthe hotel @ £14.50 each this was possibly the worst meal I have ever had.
The breakfast was very good and the young foreign girl who attended on us was excellent. This meal prevented us from lodging a complaint
The scenery and easy access to other parts of skye.
When booking i asked for smoking room and was not told until i arrived that the hotel was entirely non smoking. The buffet style breakfast was poor things such as the fried eggs looked as if they had lain for ages so did not look appetising.
Staff were helpful- room was a surprisingly good size for the money.
Quality of breakfast food was poor- based on that experience we did not try the dinner menu. Supermarket next door was very handy!
The hotel is easy to find because it is directly on the main road. The parking place is in front of the hotel.
No good food menu and no other restaurants in that location. Only another hotel in 2 min walk offers excellent food. The hotel seems to have a low budget to renovate the rooms, they are very simple equipped, no relaxing atmosphere. The bathrooms are clean but the remains are very poor equipped. Furthermore the breakfast is not good and it takes too long to get the food, even for the tee and toast it takes 10 min and the toast is black! It seems, that food is offered and delivered from somewhere, e.g. porrige was poor in tast and nearly cold. The waiter didn't understand much English, not even the simpliest language. He seemed to be overstrained with his job. The pictures posted on the website does not correspond the reality!
price was excellent. Food was good and catering staff were pleasant and helpful
No internet use. Weather was rainy and windy which was heard in the room hitting off the window. Although food is of good quality it is served very quick, giving you no time to enjoy it or relax after your previous course,
The entertainment in the evening. The food was very good and the staff were friendly.
the reception and the dining room didn't seem to communicate. reception told us not to book an evening meal, just to go when we were ready, when we arrived at the dining room it seemed to be a problem for them (didn't like the feeling that we had got it wrong) but didn't take long for them to seat and serve us.
Clean, welcoming, friendly and pleasant staff, great breakfasts, lovely room
Breath taking view what ever the directions you look
Staff or reception should know more about places of interest & their city to inform the tourist, specially where the best scottish foods & folkre dances etc.. taking place
The duty-manager, who would do anything to solve any issues for his guests, despite the state of his hotel.
No value for money! Poor general state of the hotel. Avoid the restaurant, unless you enjoy a Butlins-holiday style dinner. Hotel seems to be used mainly by coach trips.
We were particularly impressed with the staf who were friendly competent and polite at all times: from those on reception, and in the bar, to those in the dining room
